What is the impact of Fierce competition in telecom sector

As you all are aware fierce competition in Indian Telecom sector and ERA of Unlimited Free Data and Voice have started. Is it good for India and Indian Mobile recharge User.
There are Pros and cons to it.

Advantage of Fierce competition in Telecom sector

1 Price have come down easily and all operators are offering Unlimited Free Voice and Data as low as Rs 349 . So mobile recharge User are enjoying the Data and call at Lowest price in World.

2 Gone are the days when people waits for Free Wi Fi in office or at other place to download the App in Mobile.India Have surpass US and China in Android app installation on Mobile handsets. People are getting 1GB data free daily and installing as many App they like till  memory of their handset is full.

3 Data Usage have gone up and people are using 9 GB avd Monthly data. Most of it is being used in Youtube Videos and porn movies. Facebook and whatsapp Videos have increased many fold.

4 Voice usage have increased many fold and people are using Android App also for Voice and data calling.

5 At first look this scenario is looking very Rosy and outlook very positive

Disadvantage of Predatory competition

1 India was having 9 operators in 2015 which have reduced to half and with the current trend this will be 3 operator market in 2018. Reliance Jio , Airtel , Voda and Idea combine. All the operators either have shut down or in the process of shutting down the business after investing 10 lacs crore in Telecom business.

2 Telecom Industry is having 6 Lacs crore debt and finding it difficult to repay that. It is leading default and shutting down their business.

3 Over 10 lacs Employee, Distributors, Field recharge executive have lost their job and employment because of shutting down of Business. Around another 50 lacs people have lost their business indirectly who were dependent on telecom business like merchandiser, Telecom equipment supplier, Small telecom shop keeper.

4 As 14% of every recharge done by user was going to government, Now government is loosing thousands crore monthly revenue it could have got from the recharge. Because free unlimited Data and Voice pack people are not spending much on mobile recharge.

5 Govt have earned more than 10 lacs Crore in auction sale of spectrum. With less operator and ailing telecom sector no one is going to purchase spectrum ,so it will be loss of revenue in 10 lacs Crore to govt of India.

Last but not the least with only 2 or 3 operator Reliance Jio will increase the pack price as per their will. In monopolistic market without competition they will be able to charge whatever they want. They have already increased their 3 month from Rs 309 initially to Rs 399 in August and 459 from October 19 2017 for 84 days free Data and Voice package. It will go up further as the telecom service provider like Aircell, Videocon, Tata Docomo, Reliance communication and Uninor is going out of the market.
